I love images. I love color. I love black and white. I love how all of those elements appear when cast through a camera lens. There’s something fantastical about it. Especially when displayed on film. I feel that now we are in the digital age, if used correctly and not abused, the mix of digital photos and photoshop can heighten that feeling for me. I began playing around with a camera shortly after graduating college and finding out that I can gain some good practice of being a fimmaker by just taking still photographs. It’s all the same. One you’re telling stories with moving images and the other, you’re still aiming to tell a story but in just a single capture. To me the latter is much harder. It really tests your imagineering and compositional skills. It’s fun. I personally see the world differently through a camera lens then my own eyes. It’s the most incredible extention that a human can have. I have taken to this as a way to start honing my skills in camera composition and also seeing if I was able to tell stories within my shots.

The iPhone Series

With the recent updates to the iPhone technology, especially the long overdue ability to  have a flash (on the iPhone 4.0) and now having the capabilities to zoom, even on the 3G. I am continuously amazed with what quality can come of the iPhones camera when used in good lighting. Even in darkly lit areas, you can still capture some cool images on the phone at the right angle.
